I don't really know what a tumblr is exactly, but should someone start a tumblr for the halloween show pictures. It would be rad to have it centralized instead of willy nilly. If we did that would we all be able to add pics? I'm totally bummed I didn't get to go so I'd like to see what it was like.
BTW, check out Takeover Tokyo's pics on fb. She favored Morrissey heavily

rulez
all right, all you all tingling with excitement? Do you realize how many people are flooding in from out of town for this? It's all the talk in SF. Finally, the Halloween show makes us world class!!
Post from Biz:
Well this it it! Just one day to go before the show. Excited? I know we are! I just wanted to restate a few ground rules for the show. It's all stuff that's been said before in several disparate threads, but here we go again:
1. The show is at Sol Collective. They've been very cool to us, so let's be cool to them. Clean up after yourselves. I'm not just talking to GWAR. But obviously, I am talking to you, GWAR.
2. Cost is $5.00. Everyone pays, even if you're in a band. I dare you to find a better entertainment value for your bucks.
3. We're getting there at 5:00 to set up. If you wanted to get there then and help it would be appreciated. Greatly.
4. The show will start at 5:30. Yes it's early, but that's the only way we're going to get through so many bands. Speaking of bands....
5. Bands! You need to be there and ready to play at 5:30. If you're not there when you're supposed to go on, you'll probably be bumped.
6. Bands! Everyone needs to keep their sets tight, and not spend too much time dickin around between acts. There will be a backline supplied, consisting of drums, guitar and bass amps, a keyboard and keyboard amp. You must use it. As Miller so eloquently put it " getting through all the bands is more important than your sound!" If you have special equipment needs, please let our lovely and generous stage manager Charles Albright know before it's your time to go on. There will be an area backstage to change into costumes, and tune up your guitars, so you should be ready to just plug in and play when it's your time.
7. I just figured out how to insert these things into an email.
8. BYOB. Keep it inside. There will be food truck, and Tamales for sale too.
9. Do not park in the neighborhood behind Sol Collective.
10. I guess that's it? See you there!

gameday ice
A food truck called Gameday has agreed to park outside for a few hours, possibly starting at 530/6. They only sell Gameday Ice and Gameday Light. har har. Actually their menu sounds pretty good and involves a rice and beans plate and tri tip and some other stuff. Sol Collective will also be selling tamales for two bucks
We all need to stay fortified with food and hydrated so there won't be any embarrassing incidences of me crawling onto the stage. Oops, I mean someone crawling on the stage.

line up
We had a Roundtable at Roundtable. Unfortunately the Old Sac Roundtable closed early on Easter so we had to go to the one on Folsom. Their pizza was even worse than at the Old Sac one. Scott and I got Rountable delivered recently and it was delicious so I don't know WTF is up. However, the Folsom one had a bottle of wine for less than 3 dollars! The Old Sac one pours you a glass for more with disgusting fingerprints all over it.
But I digress. This roundtable at the round table at Round Table was super fun because we picked the order rather than fighting over the theme. I think you will all be happy. No spoilers but you're all in the middle. There was some fuzzy math going on. I heard smiller utter the phrase "third half". But seriously, we made a real effort to not shaft people who had been shafted previously and it was not all about favoritism for people we know more. It was based on a scientific measure whereby we measured the excitement vibes emanating for each band and factored that in.
I have already picked the theme for next year and have begun the arduous process of winning over votes. Of course smiller is already violently opposed so I may have to win him over with certain private techniques.
Which brings me to my bumper sticker idea (besides "I'm already against the next arena"): I'm already excited for the next Halloween show
I starts at 530. Everyone must be there at 5. We will chain the doors at 5:30, Carrie-style because it worked out really well in that movie. I hear Gwar is bringing the bucket of pig blood for some lucky lady. We'll also be chanting "plug it up!" at her
I haven't received posts from anyone else yet so someone there can talk about the backline stuff in the commetns or whatever or I can do another post.

updated list
I want to post an updated list. Word on the street is that we've lost Beck and Badfinger. Anyone else?
Also, second stage is still being debated. There are pros and cons. So speak up about the list and whatever.

what the heck?
wait a minute, did Davey move the Halloween blog without telling me? What the heck is going on? I ran into Matt M. at Insight and I thought he said he had the new complete band list? I can post that. It's not the set list, just the new list.
On a personal note: how long is the mic cord gonna be and is there a strong man that can hoist my 163 pounds on his shoulders without killing me or him?

in the spirit of Gwar, an anecdote
It has been requested by the members of Gwar that I post this drawing representing their ethos on the Halloween Show Blog and since I am merely a public servant I have no choice but to do so, post hast. Please click on the drawing to see the key phrase at the bottom through which they throw down the pus-covered gauntlet.
I will take this occasion to relate a story that smiller told me that involves the Loft, and therefore, sort of the Halloween Show. We were talking about meetings, and how an annoying meeting thing is when a hypothetical situation that will probably never occur is discussed in detail and at length. He said that when they had the first, large meeting about establishing the Loft as a venue, and the hows and whys of how to do it (side story: Nar played a benefit show with Jawbreaker to raise money for the project), a large chunk of the time was taken up by discussing what they would do if GG Allin ever asked to play there! That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while (young people, this is what I'm talking about - this is NOT SAFE FOR WORK!! but will explain why you would be afraid to have GG Allin come play your venue)
